Stage 9
Middle East
August 29 to September 16, 2026

The Turkish stage of Jimmy Pelletier’s World Tour offers an immersive journey through the rich history and unique landscapes of Turkey, connecting Istanbul, the gateway between Europe and Asia, to Kayseri, near the famous region of Cappadocia. This 767.3 km route traverses lands steeped in history and culture, where the legacies of the Byzantine, Ottoman, and Seljuk empires converge.
The stage begins in Istanbul, a city where East meets West. Historical landmarks such as the Hagia Sophia and Topkapı Palace stand as reminders of the grandeur of past empires. Jimmy will follow scenic roads along the Sea of Marmara before heading inland, crossing fertile valleys and rolling hills dotted with traditional villages.
As the journey progresses eastward, the terrain becomes more rugged. The ascents to the Anatolian Plateaus reveal breathtaking views of semi-arid landscapes. These plateaus, once traversed by caravans on the Silk Road, highlight the region’s strategic and cultural significance over centuries.

The stage concludes in Kayseri, a historic and vibrant city at the gateway to Cappadocia. This region is world-renowned for its extraordinary rock formations and troglodyte dwellings, carved directly into soft volcanic rock. These ancient structures served as shelters, homes, and even churches, showcasing human ingenuity and adaptability to extreme geographical conditions.
Cappadocia is also famous for its hot air balloon tours, offering unforgettable views. At dawn, colorful balloons floating above fairy chimneys and wind-sculpted valleys provide a breathtaking aerial perspective of this surreal landscape. This region is a true gem of beauty and mystery, where history and nature merge in perfect harmony.
